Attack on Titan CTG #21

As promised yesterday, here's a review of Attack on Titan!
I read through all the current chapters of Attack on Titan in about 2 days, and I love it. The series isn't finished yet and I don't see it ending anytime soon. An anime was announced a month or two ago and since I've seen the trailer I've been ecstatic.

The story is that at some point in human history giants appeared and started eating us and has driven us to the edge of extinction. To save ourselves we have taken refuge within walled cities. One day a really big giant comes and fucks things up. There's a lot of people getting eaten by giants and some cool fights.

I think the art is amazing and the story is as well. Since it's a short series so far this is a short review.

Naruto 618 and Bleach 525 CTG #17

Naruto 618 and Bleach 525.
A chapter solely focused on the 2 Kenpachi's was amazing and seeing Zaraki and Unohana's background was really cool. And to prevent spoilers, the whole reason as to why they are fighting was pretty interesting.
Naruto wasn't are to great, it added a lot more stuff that is now stacked onto the war, it was all about Sasuke with no fighting. It did set up a few hundred more chapters of story, maybe even more.

I was able to read the new manga today in a free-period on a school computer. This pretty much means that I'll start reading more manga at school. The good then is, is that the site I use is the only one that isn't blocked.

I OFFICIALLY have a new favorite manga CTG #15

OMG!!!!!!!!!! Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) is the greatest fucking manga ever! I started reading it yesterday and am caught up with it! I just finished reading it and was like "OH NO! This can't be it!" But I didn't see that it was ongoing, when I saw that I almost shit my pants! But it is released monthly the next chapter will be out in about two weeks.... And there will be an anime this year! Greatest moments of my life. The series is truly amazing, it's my new favorite manga! It's one of those series that if anything is given away it's pretty much a spoiler.

How to Open PMD File in Blender (Not Efficient) CTG #4

So yesterday's CTG I posted a Franken Fran video and said I would download the file, and I did. Except I'm not a MMD user and I didn't feel like learning a new program, so I figured I'd use a program I know very well, Blender. Blender can not open MMD files (PMD and PMM(?)) thus you have to convert the files. To do this you have to download 2 programs, PMXEditor and fragMotion.

How to?
Open the file in PMXEditor then export it as a "dot-X" -> (.X) file.
Then open the .X file in fragMotion and export it as OBJ.
Then Open it in Blender.
Done.
....! However! This is not efficient and it does not produce a good model. The mesh is crappy (it still looks the same but isn't good for animation). I'll continue to look into it and keep this updated.

Halo 4 Review (Short)

Halo 4 Review

I've been playing Halo since the beginning, and unlike a lot of people when Halo 4 was announced I was happy (I actually cried.). I didn't care whether or not Bungie was making it, it was still Halo. On the 6th I went to the midnight release of H4, came home and played it. I beat it in a single sitting (thought it was on easy) and was extremely pleased. I would say it's as good as Halo 2, which it seams is everyone's favorite, including me. The game play was amazing, the story was perfect and it just opened so much for the Halo universe and for Halo Fans. 343 Industries proved themselves. I'm glad it's the start of a new trilogy.

The Gameplay is the same as in the previous games with the exception that they add sprint as a permanent ability, there are a few new item ability things and new Promethean weapons. The new bad guys, the Prometheans are fucking awesome some can teleport and they have little robots that fly with them that can bring them back to life. The new baddies force you to strategies, as they add a new dimension to combat. Nothing new with the Covenant, except fighting them and the Prometheans can be hard at times. The Promethean Grunts heads like turn into lava when you get a head shot and most of the others turn into ash when they die. When you get the Promethean weapons they have some cool animations, when you first grab them.

They upgraded the graphics to a new standard really. Master Chief looks more of a beast than ever (I didn't think it was possible.), his suit is just awesome. Cortana look as sexy as usually. And the cinematic are beautiful. All the cut scenes equal to more than an hour which I thought was a lot for an 8 level game but all my friends say that's pretty short, but it only took my a little under 6 hours to beat so 1/6 the game is cut scene.

Character design is pretty much the same with a lot of details added.

I don't want to talk about the story in this review I'll do another post about Halo 4 to talk about the story, but I will say that it is amazing and that every person with an Xbox should get it.

MineCraft Review

MineCraft Review

So I'm a little late to this party (as usual I suck, and this is my first game review) since Minecraft is as old as time. I play Minecraft on the Xbox, so when ever I say that people are always like, “You're missing out, the PC version is way ahead.” To which I reply, “Suck up.” The game is awesome either way. Now if you have an Xbox and are short on cash (Also if you have a sucky computer) I would recommend the Xbox Version. It's cheaper by about 5-10 dollars (The PC keeps going up in price. Right now it's about 28 dollars, when I first heard of it it was only $11.), and I think it would be funner. Playing on the computer, in your room, for hours is pretty anti-social, but if you play in a living room or family room it's a little less reclusive.

The game play is fun. Imagine the world being made with Lego's and you can build anything you want. Or like a survival game (with Lego's) where the point of the game is to collect resources all-the-while fighting zombies, creepers and other monsters. You can build almost anything, I've seen people build working computers before and whole cities. There's almost no learning curve, maybe play the tutorial, but it all comes pretty easy.

There's no story, you just build stuff.

I'll admit that when people first started talking about Minecraft, I gave them a lot of shit and thought it was the stupidest game ever, and now I play it for about an hour a day. It was weird how I went around to all my friends and apologized for making fun of them. (They still think I'm an ass.)

The game has two gameplay options, Survival and Creative. In Survival you build stuff while surviving, and fighting off monsters, while in Creative you are immortal and can fly in order to build more grand structures; you also don't have to mine resources, you have access to all of them and in an infinite quantity. In Survival there are different difficulty settings, Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard. In Peaceful no monsters spawn (this is the level I play at because I suck) and once in easy monsters start to spawn and after normal they become harder to kill and deal more damage.

In the game the terrain in pretty big, not so much in the Xbox version with it being only a fraction of the computer version. There are different biomes, and there can be many within a single map.

I haven't played on multiplayer yet, because I don't have Live and I don’t like embarrassing my self. But from what I hear it's fun and can turn into a PvP in no time, instead of fighting zombies, Creepers and other monsters players fight each other.

As some final thoughts for this game, I'd say it's well worth the 1600 Microsoft Points. It's addicting on every level and can quickly become a social life killer. I spent days during the summer just playing Minecraft, even skipping work a few times. However with all the good things to say the only things bad I'll say is the Xbox Version takes them forever to update and we're really for behind from the computer.

Well that was my first game review and hopefully not the last. Now I'll start writing the Halo 4 review.
