Color Blind

This is probably by favorite non-rhyme poem I have written. The meaning behind it isn't hidden, the average reader could read it and understand what I was trying to convey. It's for those reason why I like it so much.

It has come to be all so apparent,
That life is so bleak and desolate.
My world has fallen over with nothing to remain.
Oh, how I long to once again,
Be in that ignorant bless,
So that I may once again live.

Your red lips have faded to
A gloom infested perpetual grey.
Those blue eyes that I once so loved,
That I would wake to,
Have vanished into the haze of black and grays.
You are a blank canvas to my eyes.

I will forever see the world,
Not as it is wanted, but needed.
The colors have faded, the sharpness gone,
But the shape remains true.
I am not blinded by the beauty,
But presented the form.

On my knees begging, I am here,
Once again wanting
Ignorance over fact, beauty over pragmatism.
Oh, how I want see the facade of beauty,
And never inner workings of it.
Oh, how I want to be shallow and see beauty.

May Sickness (Chapter 4)

Chapter 4
From the gathering crowd one man stood out. He wore a pin stripe suit, as did two other men on either side of him. Their suits were perfect; free of stains, wrinkles, flaws. Unlike the others, as they walked, the droplets of rain did not absorb into their clothes, or even touch them. As they moved the rain made a path for them, moving out of the way and then returning to their original positions.
The man standing in the middle was tall, with the height at about seven foot, he had broad shoulders. Through the sleeves of the suit it was obvious that his arms were large and muscular. His legs, like tree trunks, walked with heavy steps. His being, his entire person, radiated a strong, intimidating aura. His face was covered with scars; with two more prominent, one running the length of his face cutting through his left eye; and the other running through the middle of his face, perpendicular to the other.
The men at his sides were small, in comparison, but large on their own. They stood around six foot, with much smaller, thinner bodies.

Every Haiku I've Written So Far

Here are all the Haiku poems that I have written. I have them on my Poetrysoup. They are about various things, some are serious and others are not.

Here is Poetrysoup's difinition of Haiku.

"A Japanese poem composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five moras (a unit of sound that determines syllable weight in some languages) respectively, usually about some form of nature. Although haiku are often stated to have 17 syllables,[2] this is inaccurate as syllables and moras are not the same. Haiku typically contain a kigo (seasonal reference), and a kireji (cutting word).[3] In Japanese, haiku are traditionally printed in a single vertical line and tend to take aspects of the natural world as their subject matter, while haiku in English often appear in three lines to parallel the three phrases of Japanese haiku and may deal with any subject matter."

Sticky Notes

All of the colors
Placed throughout my desk and room
Words which to cypher

Poverty
Rationing the needs
Never to have what they want
We must end this now

Turning
Spinning are we, through
A changing society
Around and around

Money
Small and meaningless
But holds the world in it's hands
Money paints us green.

Birds
They fly oh so high
Reaching even more so heights
Soon to land on ground

Sea
Blanketing the Earth
Holding a bounty of all
It's a mystery

The Sun
Blaze, light, forever shine
Never to be looked into,
To fade in sweet bless

The Moon
In the sky shining
Cursed forever to the night
Only to see dark

Taekwondo
Kicks that carry force
Carried out beautifully
Majestic style

Muay Thai
Effective and tough
Made to get the job done fast
Beautiful and sweet

Summer
Blazing summer days,
Rains come at any moment,
To cool our hot brows.

Trees
Green, towering high,
Once nothing more than a seed,
They block out the sun.

Shy
Money talks, so spend,
Because I want to hear you.
Your voice it, is sweet.

Ashes of Life
The fires blazing,
Ashes fall over the land,
New life will soon grow.

Rushing Rivers
Rushing white water,
Crushing everything below.
Soon to flow smoothly.

New Life
Death envelopes all.
But from that predistiny,
Will surely come birth.

Haikus are really easy to make and quite fun.

May Sickness (Chapter 3)

Chapter 3
…so much despair.
The memories they shared, the thoughts of love, everything exited his mind. Darkness surrounded him, vision escaped from his being. Felix could no longer hear Rose’s pleas, her anguished moans. The strength in his legs gave out, no longer able to support his body. Felix reached for stability, in his blind, weaken state he found the wall he had just been leaning against. What’s going on? She needs my help!
The man ran his hand along Rose’s waist. He caressed her breast. She continually cried, crying from the pain, the humiliation, and the helplessness.

May Sickness (Chapter 2)

When I was writing May Sickness I wanted it to be really pedantic so I added higher level words in random places (kind of like what Stephenie Meyer did in Twilight).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2
The family Felix came from was that of the working class. His father worked in the city’s one remaining factory, while his mother worked as a waitress at a small diner. His parents past were that of mediocrity, they were not particularly smart, but that of average intelligence. They did not have connections with any influential individuals, all they had were their strong backs.
Felix did not have much ambition; he knew how hard it was to succeed. Ambition would lead to big goals, and when those goals were not accomplished, sadness would fill your heart, and he knew that. It was best to dream small and be happy when things went well, as compared to dreaming big and being disappointed every other day.
Felix could easily remember that day, that sad day. It was a beautiful day, the sun shined bright, the skies were clear with a soft baby blue, and a refreshing breeze swept through the city. That day would change his life and lead him down a road of plaintive tears, but also one of peace and laughter.

The Dance of Life

Though on Poetrysoup I categorized it in the Dizain form I'm not quite sure if it is, but it might be. This was written some time ago so please don't judge.

The Dance of Life
The spinning, the twirling, you were all so majestic,
Coming down gracefully from a leap,
You embodied beauty and everything fantastic.
You were all but mine to keep.
Their jealous gawking and words pushed you to the deep.
I walked away, abandoning you to a gallows,
But you were just ankles deep in the shallows.
Please forgive a stupid boy,
For forsaking one by the hallows,
Of a life I only hope to destroy.

The below information was originally found on Poetrysoup in the "Form" section, which the link is right here. It gives the definition of a Dizain poem.

Definition

"Ten lines rhymed a b a b b c c d c d; usually (though not by definition) iambic pentameter. This is a Dizain chain. This is originally a French form and initially would have been made up of eight syllablelines, but later ten syllable lines were also used. The few examples of this form in England did prefer Iambic Pentameter, but that's purely up to the poet. The rhyme scheme is: a. b. a. b. b. c. c. d. c. d."

May Sickness (Chapter 1)

May Sickness is the story I wrote sophomore year of high school (I graduated the 1st of June this year and just got my diploma on the 21st) and it took me about 3 months to write. This pretty much means that it's not Stephen King quality but I will edit it regularly to try to make it better. The name comes from Gogatsu byou which holds some meaning because after I finished it I skipped a few days of school because I was exhausted (it wasn't in May though).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There isn't that many people I can thank, this was the result of pure boredom and spontaneity, but those I can thank the world will know their names. First off myself, without you who would I be? Nothing in the most literal sense of the word. Alex, the best damn girlfriend a man can ask for, thank you for being by my side and continually showing me love and support. I love you.

Chapter 1
A downpour of despair fell upon the city, that city so full of sin, that city so selfish. The rain washed away any morality and any virtue that may have clung to those skyscrapers which they, so proud, built. It washed away any hope that remained under bridges and tucked away in alleyways. Optimistic vagabonds dampen by the saliva from a million mouths of the heavens. Mouths that smile on the lucky, the prosperous, but spit on the down trotted and poor.
A canopy of umbrellas concealed the pavement below. Those umbrellas were carried in the hands of the masses, dronesfresh off a never ending assembly line. The drones, so afraid that the droplets of condensation might cause a short circuit, clench their umbrellas and continue to march to their meaningless professions.
